I was in the company of a man who told me he knew of two women who were as he put it “Geeked up and ready to go.”
“Ya hear me, I said they blowing up my phone.” He laughed
I told him I would have to pass on his offer. I explained that I did not come prepared and had no rubbers. I silently gave thanks that I do not walk around with condoms and giving myself the excuse and temptation.
He didn’t argue. In DC, in southeast DC especially they take aids seriously.
Later than night I am waiting at the Annocostica station when a stranger walks up to me and sticks a large black box full of magnum condoms in my face. Before me were more condoms than I had ever used in my life. He mumbles something un hearable, but his intentions are clear. Condoms for sale.
